Planning Guide
& Getting Started
1. Setting Your Goals.
Whether you’re building or remodeling think about obstacles/issues have you faced in previous floor plans. Consider the present- like functionality. Plan for the future- such as your home’s resale value in your design choices and amenities.
2. Get it All on Paper.
A visual depiction of your space will aid the process. Official plans or blueprints are great, but not a necessity. This planning guide w/ graph paper will help to organize your project. Take as many measurements as possible. Each box represents one square foot.
3. Gather Ideas, Go wild!
Utilize magazines and go online to create your own portfolio of ideas. Pinterest is also an excellent tool for organizing design boards. Money is no object here- you’re just simply weaving a visual design web together. This is the fun part!
4. Setting A Budget.
You’ve developed your design style, and are getting a glimpse of how different products will meet your needs. It’s time to determine a reasonable budget. Active’s design team will combine your vison & budget- exceeding your expectations.
5. Schedule or Walk-in.
Whether you’re prepared or not sure, we’re ready to meet you in the process. You can schedule an appointment anytime or simply walk in. If you have a contactor, great! Otherwise we can provide a list of preferred contractors in the area. We’ll see you soon!

Since '81
Active Plumbing Supply Co opened it’s doors 1956, but it was 25 years later in ’81 that our first showroom began in Painesville, Ohio, and was one of the first in the state of it’s kind. Now known as our Kitchen & Bath Design Centers, we have 3 convenient locations: Painesville, Chagrin Falls and Avon, Oh.
Our Design Centers are set apart from the competition by our industry knowledge. Our staff combines an origin of plumbing expertise, with professional/thougful design training, and a love of the industry. We’ve got what you need for any project – at any scope, size or budget.
